HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaii’s Council on Revenue’s latest quarterly outlook shows the economy is improving at a faster clip than anticipated in January.

Council members on Wednesday upgraded their forecast for the current fiscal year to 12 percent, up from 11.5 percent. Chairman Richard Kahle Jr. said it looks like the economy has recovered.

“Tourism is good and tourism takes the rest of the economy with it,” he said after the meeting. “Yes, there are problems. There’s a problem in Europe. There could be a problem with Iran, but right now, there’s no problem and that’s where we’re coming from.”Click here for complete article
