Canadians were by far the largest foreign group to purchase property in Maui County in 2014, according to a Title Guaranty Hawaii report. For the year, Canadians bought 94 properties on Maui, Molokai and Lanai for a total sales volume of $84.2 million, the report from the Hawaii title company said. The most popular areas on the island for Canadian buyers were South Maui, with 44 sales for a total of $33.5 million, and West Maui, with 36 sales for a total of $36.9 million.
